VeilBreakers — For Agents & Editors

VeilBreakers: The Hidden War (~95,000 words) is a YA/Adult crossover science-fiction thriller where a fractured world is held together by engineered forgetting. When Kairo, a young warrior marked by mercy, uncovers the truth behind the Veil and the girl the world forgot, he learns that surrender to a higher Voice—not domination—is real power. The series blends cinematic pacing with a faith-meets-physics spine, moral clarity, and a modern, science-literate sheen.

Logline: To rescue the girl the world forgot and restore a reality rewritten by lies, a young warrior must yield to the One True Voice—and make remembrance his weapon.

  • Positioning: YA + Adult crossover, faith-infused sci-fi; “faith meets physics” thriller.
  • Word Count: ~95,000 (Book I complete, revised).
  • Series: Planned trilogy with clear transmedia roadmap (film/TV, AAA game, youth workshops).
  • Comps: The 5th Wave (YA scope), myth-science vibe of Dune (accessibly told), moral clarity reminiscent of C.S. Lewis.
  • Status: Representation open; full manuscript, series outline, and transmedia materials available on request.

Why VeilBreakers Will Sell

VeilBreakers: The Hidden War  sits at the intersection of two powerful markets: mainstream YA speculative fiction and spiritually grounded storytelling.

  • It delivers cinematic action, fractured-memory worldbuilding, and emotionally transformative character arcs while remaining clean, hope-centered, and rooted in a biblical moral framework.
  • The series speaks directly to today’s rising audience of readers seeking stories about identity, trauma recovery, courage, and truth in the face of deception. Its fusion of faith-meets-physics resonance, romantic tension, and mythic scope offers a fresh narrative experience rarely seen in the market.
  • The world is also fully franchise-ready, designed for expansion into film, television, gaming, and youth workshop programs.
  • With a clear message of hope woven into an immersive sci-fi narrative, VeilBreakers entertains deeply and heals quietly, giving it strong crossover appeal for both Christian and mainstream audiences.

Opening Pages

Chapter 1: The Rift Opens

The first time Kairo saw them, he was just a child.
The Four Horsemen.
Or something wearing their names.

He stood frozen in the middle of his family’s small field, heart pounding. They emerged not from clouds, but from a sky torn like a scroll, bleeding fire and light. Four riders thundered through the rift, each astride a beast born of judgment.

The first rode a white horse. Its rider wore a crown and held a bow. His eyes shone with the cold ambition of Conquest.
The second came on a red stallion. In his hand, he gripped a great sword. The air seemed to redden with him, the weight of War.
The third rode a black steed. The rider bore a set of scales in one hand, a set of scales that tilted without weight. The scent of rot followed. He dealt in Famine.
The fourth came last. His horse was pale, the color of sickness. The rider’s skin was translucent. He looked like Death, and behind him a second shadow drifted, as if a collector waited beyond his reach.

They gazed at Kairo. The scent of burning earth filled his nostrils. The ground under his bare feet shuddered and vibrated through his small frame.

Fear held him. Something older than fear called to him. His thin figure stood in the glow of apocalyptic light.

Short Synopsis

Kairo survives in a world “healed” by forgetting. The Veil has rewritten memory, line by line, trading freedom for order. On a mission to the Citadel of Embers, Kairo and his strike team—the VeilBreakers—fracture the illusion and glimpse Aria, a prisoner whose very presence threatens the Veil’s control.

Guided by a whisper deeper than fear, Kairo learns that power without surrender only tightens chains. Mercy—costly, humiliating, stubborn—cuts cleaner than any blade. As loyalties splinter and ancient forces stir, Kairo must yield to the One True Voice that restores, or become another instrument of control.

Book I delivers a contained arc with a clear win, while opening a broader war of remembrance versus engineered harmony across the series. Core mechanic: Memory Immersion—the body stays; the seeing moves.

Note: Select flashbacks are inspired by the author’s lived experiences and reimagined for the story.
